Mundhum Trail

Mundhum is the ancient oral scripture and philosophical guide of the Kirati people, especially, the Rai, Limbu, Yakkha, and Sunuwar ethnic groups of eastern Nepal. The word “Mundhum” comes from the Limbu language and is roughly translated. The Mundhum Trail in eastern Nepal is named to honour this tradition. The trek is not just scenic, it is spiritually symbolic, linking sacred Kirati sites and passing through ancestral lands. it is a living tradition of oral literature. It preserves ecological wisdom, healing practices, and ancestral knowledge that has existed for thousands of years, it is the spiritual backbone of the Kirati people. It defines their customs, language, rituals, and festivals. It is central to Kirati ethnic pride and cultural preservation. This Trek, located in the remote and culturally rich region of eastern Nepal, offers a stunning mix of natural beauty, unique cultural experiences, and off-the-beaten-path adventure. It lies mainly in the Bhojpur and Khotang districts. From the viewpoint of the top of the Silichong peak (4200m) offers Panoramic view of Mahalangur and Kanchenjunga Himalaya range including the majestic view of Mt Everest, Kanchenjunga and many other peaks, while walking through lush green forest and alpine landscape. crossing several rivers and passing serene beautiful sacred lakes ancient villages of Kirant make the trek unforgettable.

Day 4: Dhotre to Maiyung.

Day 5: Maiyung to Rawadhap.

Day 6: Rawadhap to Salpa Bhanjyang.

Day 7: Salpa Bhanjyang to Silichung Peak (4,153 m).

Day 8: Salpa to Hyakule.

Day 9: Hyakule to Hanspokhari.

Day 10: Hanspokhari to Bhojpur.

Day 11: Drive or flight to Kathmandu.
